The Miscellaneous Options group together a number of settings that do not necessarily fit together in one group or category of settings.

Miscellaneous Options reference chart:

Term/Setting What it Sets/Changes
Default charset for filesystem
The default charset used for filenames on the file system.
If this is set to a supported charset, Open Webmail will convert the
filename between user preference charset and the fscharset.
If this is set to 'none', no conversion will be issued.
Use lightbar for selection
Whether to use the light bar for selection.
Use Regex in search and filterrule
If set this option to 'yes', the regular expression is assumed when
doing keyword match in search and filterrule.
Hide folder internal dataIf this option is enabled, internal messages used by POP3 or IMAP server will be hidden.
Categorized folders listOn the folders page, list user folders by category. You define the category by naming the folder as category-foldername, separated by the string or character of your choice (default is "-", "/" is not allowed).
New mail sound notification Plays a sound at the arrival of a new incoming e-mail.
New mail popup window notification Number of seconds for new mail notification pop-up window to remain on the screen.  Set to "0" to switch the new mail window off.
Sent message popup window notification
This is the remaining time of the mail sent notification window.
If it is set to value larger than 0, Open Webmail will popup a window to notify the user after a successful message sending.
Dictionary for spell checkThe default dictionary to be used when checking the spelling of a message. This can be changed "on the fly".
Trash folder messages lifetimeNumber of days to retain e-mails in the Trash folder. After the number of specified days, the Trash folder will be emptied.
Spam/Virus folder messages lifetime Messages in Spam and Virus folder will be deleted if its day age is more than this value.
Auto-refresh message listing This is the interval in minutes that Open Webmail will refresh
the screen when the user is listing a folder or reading a message.
It gives the Open Webmail a chance to check the new mail status.
Session timeoutMaximum allowed time to be logged into Open Webmail without action.
